Chiana 2013.

I decided that the world needed a new drawing of Chiana from Farscape so I drew this last night. It took about 3 minutes for the rough line work and then around 5 hours to shade and polish up the whole thing . As soon as she was done I uploaded her and the rest as they say is history. I used a #2 pencil only and drew her from memory. Whats that? doesn't look exactly like her you say,well I say if you want an exact likeness then get a screen capture or photo. This is a freehand drawing and an example of pure traditional art. I've drawn this character in many different styles and I.ve never really gotten two drawings to look identicle reguardless of the style used, that's where the fun comes in because you never really know what you've got till it's done and I find it interesting to see how many different interpretations I can come up with for this character.
I've got hundreds of screen caps of Chiana on my computer but I still enjoy drawing my own versions of her. I've seen a lot of drawings of her by other artists and although their quite good I've noticed that they seem to be the same exact picture and I find that to be a little strange and somewhat unimaginative to a certain degree and lets face it, it's also a little boreing. To be honest Im guilty of this as well but I prefer to draw her in situations I invent and I think it makes for a more varied and fun experience to see images other than the same old standard done to death pictures that populate the internet.
